Carat Weight

Carat weight is the unit of measurement that is used to weigh diamonds and often abbreviated “ct”.  One carat is divided into 100 points.  An example of how the point scale is used: 0.76 carats = 76 points.  Generally, the heavier the diamond, the larger it is; however, a larger diamond does not always yield a more valuable diamond.
